JAKE SCHUMAN | Owner
With 15 years of experience in the outdoor industry, Jake is a third-generation Schuman entrepreneur. His journey into business management began in 2014 when he started a property maintenance company with his father. At JDX, Jake oversees all operational aspects, including front-line customer communication, estimating, invoicing, and scheduling. Born and raised in Rising Sun, Jake now resides in downtown with Dani. He has a passion for cooking, grilling, and caring for his three beloved pets. Jake also enjoys traveling and cheering for the Baltimore Ravens. Grateful to have started a business with his best friend, Jake is dedicated to making JDX Construction a success.

DANI BROWN | Owner
Dani is the strategic force behind JDX Construction, expertly managing administrative tasks and logistics. She handles email communications, oversees social media, and takes charge of public relations and networking to expand our business connections and enhance customer satisfaction. As the backbone of the company, Dani turns Jake’s ideas into reality with her exceptional organizational skills and vision. Beyond her critical role in the business, Dani is Jake’s soulmate, and best friend. She is also a full-time paramedic, a devoted pet parent to a senior German Shepherd and two cats, and enjoys reading, hiking, and exploring new places.

GAVIN APPEL | Crew Leader
Gavin has been a trusted colleague of Jake's for 15 years and brings over two decades of landscaping experience to JDX Construction. As a crew leader, Gavin's precision eye for detail and unwavering dedication make him an invaluable asset to our team. He is the first to arrive at the shop every morning and the last to leave, exemplifying his commitment and work ethic. Outside of work, Gavin is a devoted family man with four wonderful children. He enjoys all things outdoors, especially fishing, and has a passion for cars and trucks.
